David Beckham LA Galaxy and Herbalife
L.A. Galaxy has drawn two fascinating bodies into its orbit, Herbalife, the best kept business secret (and health secret) in the world and David Beckham, the most famous soccer footballer in the world.
Although Herbalife has been around for 30 years, is distributed in 72 countries, annually sells over
3 billion US dollars worth of product and is quoted on NYSE, its meteoric rise has been mostly due to word-of-mouth. Consequently, it has been little known outside of its field of Nutritional Wellbeing, Sports Fitness and Weight Control. All of this is about to change.
Over the next 5 years, Herbalife is set to become an accepted household name alongside, Hoover, Kleenex and Microsoft.
Pictures of Beckham holding up and wearing his L.A. Galaxy shirt with the ‘HERBALIFE’ logo emblazoned across the front have been beamed around the globe and 250,000 shirts were immediately purchased by fans.
This seems to be much more than just a
‘cash-for-publicity’ deal.
The nutritional sponsorship has already been going on for 5 years, and this is what L.A. Galaxy General Manager Alexi Lalas had to say:

And what of Posh? Beckham’s equally famous popstar fashionista wife Victoria has often attracted media disapproval over alleged unhealthy weight control practises. A positive and easy opportunity to maintain a healthy, lean, shape in the form of the Herbalife products would seem to be the very thing she has been looking for, but only time will tell.
